CASA resolutions, if approved, are forwarded to the Association of Food and Drug Officials and other applicable governmental agencies recommending concrete change and action. If you feel strongly that a particular food and/or drug issue needs to be changed, use our CASA Resolutions template (PDF 11kb) and submit the resolution to Howard Rabinovitch, CASA Resolution Chairperson or your local conference Resolutions Committee member by April 1, 2010.

Will inspect facilities including nurseries, kindergartens, hospitals, health care and convalescent homes, restaurants, retail grocery stores, taverns, and bakeries to determine compliance with State and local ordinances. POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Baltimore County Government's Department of Environmental Protection & Resource Management is seeking an Environmental Health professional to fill our vacant Sanitarian I position. Under close supervision, performs professional environmental and public health sanitation work and ensures compliance with Federal, State, and local laws and regulations. Inspects individual water supplies and sewage disposal facilities.  Investigates stream pollution violations, rodent control violations and related community hygiene violations. Inspects all facilities such as nurseries, kindergartens, hospitals, health care and convalescent homes. Inspects restaurants, retail grocery stores, taverns, bakeries, and other retail food service facilities. BA/BS in physical, environmental health or biological sciences, engineering, or agriculture, or registration as a Professional Sanitarian in the State of Maryland. Must be licensed as a Maryland State Professional Sanitarian OR possess a Certificate of Eligibility for registration possession.

POSITION TITLE: SANITARIAN VI, REGISTERED

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The MD Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Infectious Disease and Environmental Health Administration (IDEHA) is seeking a Sanitarian IV, Registered serving as the Retail Food Rating Officer in the Office of Food Protection and Consumer Health Services. This position is responsible for reviewing, inspecting, and evaluating local food inspection programs for compliance to State codes and standards in order to promote public health. It is responsible for standardizing local Standardization Officers and the OFPCHS staff as required. It provides leadership, oversight, and training to local jurisdictions, the OFPCHS staff and the food industry. This position is required to conduct plan reviews for new and/or remodeled food facilities and may also be expected to supervise other professional staff in the future. This position also performs food processing plant inspections. Qualified candidates are determined by the Maryland State Board of Environmental Sanitarians under the certificate of eligibility requirements for Environmental Sanitarians and must possess a current license as a Registered Environmental Sanitarian from the Maryland State Board of Environmental Sanitarians as well as six years of environmental health work experience in the promotion, control, and maintenance of environmental health, two years of which must have involved direction of an environmental control project and/or supervision of positions performing environmental health work.
